Thank you for considering Capital Youth Services. Our goal is to provide the very best outpatient mental health care for adolescents and their families. We will do this by being responsive to your needs, working on goals that are important to you, and by staying well informed on adolescent mental health research and trends. We are aware that seeing a therapist can be stressful, time consuming and expensive. We strive to make the care you receive here the very best available.
The following office information will help you make the most of our services.
Voice mail: We have chosen to use a voice mail system rather than a receptionist in the office. This allows for the most privacy and confidentiality. Voice mail messages are confidential, and will only be retrieved by your therapist.
Telephone calls: We know that an essential element of treating an adolescent is communicating with parents. While we must adhere to confidentiality law, we do want to hear from you. We will usually have a parent give us an update when we meet regularly with a teenager. If you wish to call between sessions, please do. We aim to return phone calls the day we receive them, and will try to leave times when you might best reach us if we miss each other.
Email: Some adolescents and parents prefer to email us with important information between sessions. Your therapist will be pleased to give you his or her email address. There are inherent risks regarding privacy with email. Please review our electronic communication policy for more information.
Emergencies: Instructions for reaching a therapist with an urgent matter are on the outgoing message at our main number. In an emergency, please do not wait for a call back from us; go immediately to the closest emergency room or call 911.
Suggestions: We strive to improve our services and your experience with us. If you have any suggestions that might make your experience here better, please let us know.
