Diana Gomez

Diana Gomez, LGPC provides outpatient services to children, adolescents, and adults who struggle with emotion dysregulation, self-esteem, perfectionism, life transitions, and identity exploration. Therapy with Diana involves using a DBT and related treatments that provide a nurturing, non-judgmental environment with determined guidance towards therapy goals created together.

Diana earned her M.S. in Applied Psychology at the University of Baltimore and earned her B.S. in Psychology at Mount St. Mary’s University. Diana has been intensively trained in DBT. Diana’s vocational history also includes registering as a behavior technician, implementing Applied Behavior Analysis with children and training others in ABA. Throughout Diana’s journey with behavior therapy, she believed the treatment to be successful with behavior change but with an empathy component missing. After learning about DBT at her first internship, Diana realized that behavior therapy can be transformed into a method that includes acceptance and affirmation while maintaining a focus on behavior change. Other theoretical orientations Diana has used in the past include elements of Filial Therapy and Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT).
